Sing Along Service

It is as multifaceted and multi-voiced as the city itself: the Tageblatt Choir. Here, committed amateur singers from Göttingen and the region come together before the Festival to sing and to share a joy in music that is truly infectious. The Sing Along service has now become a cherished Festival tradition and is aimed at all those who would like to make music together in the Tageblatt Choir and help spread the Festival spirit.

Accompanied by the Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester Göttingen, this year the choir will rehearse splendid choruses from Handel’s most famous oratorio, Messiah. The performance will be conducted by George Petrou, the Artistic Director of the Göttingen Handel Festival, who, together with the Tageblatt singers, will evoke a spirited, radiant, and enticing Hallelujah!
